User Reviews about Timex Men's T5E261 Ironman 100-Lap FLIX System Watch
I was looking for what I thought was this watch after seeing ones like it in a department store, knowing I could get a better price from Amazon. So I ordered this too quickly before realizing it was not the same strap I was expecting. Velcro strap, not what I wanted, but I gave it a try and really am liking it so far. Comfortable strap, nice large display is important for me to see easily and this is the best I have found for having easy to read, large display. -- Disappointed then happily surprised
I bought this watch less than a year ago and initially I was very happy with it. I loved its look and its reliability. I liked this watch so much that I took it with me to a trip. It so happened that after some time, this watch will start to fail you. First of all for some reason the buttons got stuck on me so I couldn't access the other functions anymore. Also I had a big problem with the band, intitally it didn't matter to me. But when you get the band wet, it takes too long to dry and could irritate the skin. Also after some time the end of the band bursted open, there I saw how cheaply put together this watch is. The end of the band was only glued in and was sewed in very cheaply. On top of that the paint on the dial started to chip. So to sum up, I would've bought a different watch. -- Cheap Quality
I have owned many watches in the 35 to 65 Dollar Range with all types of bands. Im very hard on watches do to Im an Auto Mechanic. I also swim allot and fish allot wich exposes watches to uv rays. Rubber watch bands end up cracking ,uv rays. Metal Bands get caught on about anything they end up breaking or the snap wears out. If you are hard on a Velcro band watch you will wear the paint off the watch face first. The reason they are hard to start is its a safety catch as a last resort in case you undo the velcro . The worst thing for a velcro band is taking it on and off. One month ago velcro band broke it ripped away from the connection to the rubber ...........I replaced it with oversized rubber band It looks way better I would take 1 star away ........ -- Timex Watch Vecro Band
Have had a couple of Timex watches before and since I work in a grocery store, I usually buy fairly inexpensive watches every couple of years that look nice, sporty and have a easy to read face, w/ day/date and alarm clock. Saw the Timex T5E261 and knew that would be my next watch. Arrived from shipper, NY to Sea. in about 7 days after ordering(pretty darn good). Took the watch out of package and looked it over. Loved the watch, but the velcro-strap itself has a bit to be desired. Most annoying thing is, that it takes quite a bit of effort to squeeze/pull the strap over my hand. If I take the strap(loop it through and velcro) all the way apart, it's a hassle to get it back through the loop. Band feels good though after wearing it for a couple of days though. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase till I have to take it off or put it on. Strap aggravation costs this 2 stars. BTW, I wear mens med. cadet golf gloves if that helps. -- Needs longer Strap!
