User Reviews about Casio Men's SGW200-1VCF Pedometer Resin Strap Watch
The first thing you'll notice upon taking it out of the back is that it is a very sturdily built watch. The strap and appearance are very much utilitarian, suiting it's description as a runner's tool. The pedometer is mostly accurate, though my stride length often varies depending on terrain, how tired I am, etc, so the distance given is never more than an approximation. Hardly more could be expected for a device that essentially counts how many times you shake it. Comparing to a treadmill, I'd guess that the watch is accurate to 10% on distance, even when i'm taking shorter strides through hilly terrain, so it's not bad at all.
Pros:
Sturdy Construction
Loads of nifty features
Super cool light feature (the letter light up rather than the background, making it much easier to read in the dark)
Cons:
Somewhat bulky
No option to turn off sound (makes it hard to surreptitiously time my teacher's segways. Oh well) -- High Quality, at a fair price
I purchased this watch because I wanted a pedometer. I found that the pedometer will work when I walk, even though the directions say it won't. The sensor waits a few seconds before recording, in order to mitigate false readings, so this can be a bit confusing. I found it to be fairly accurate for running.
Also, if you are trying to track your steps through the day, I found it to be inaccurate because of the delay. For example, if you take a few steps to get copies off the copier, it may not record the steps. Granted, taking 2 to 5 steps is not really exercise.
If you want close to 100% accuracy, I would imagine a GPS watch would be what you really need. Otherwise, I feel this one suits me for casual use.
The only true complaint I have is the band. The tip of the band slips out of the strap frequently. This is a fairly petty complaint, though, since I can buy a new band, if I really want to. One last note, I can't seem to find a way to turn off the beep when scrolling through the watch features. -- Ok pedometer
The watch is lighter than I expected. It can do a lot for the price. I mainly wanted the distance and calorie counter so all good there. It looks decent too so I can wear it at the office without it being out of place. I would recommend to others. My co-worker was trying to find a ladies version even. -- Exactly as advertised.
I bought the watch to use as a pedometer. It is not a pedometer. It is a running watch. If used for walking, even if you swing your arms,it does not measure correctly. If you are a runner, great. If you are a walker, don't buy it. -- Not for walking
